Undertaking The Swap From Wet To Dry Cat Food

I am a caring cat owner and I always make an effort to do what’s best for the cat. She’s continually liked wet foods however not long ago began to shun away from it. My partner and i wondered exactly what was wrong… does she have a stomach upset perhaps or does she purely no longer like the flavor? A visit to the veterinarians, which coincided along with her once-a-year shots concluded in the exposure that our much loved moggie had gotten a large build up of plaque and tartar on her teeth.  On top of that, her gums were found to be so sore they were practically on the stage of bleeding! Needless to say, I was mortified. My wonderful moggy was off hear meals simply because she was really in pain consuming the stuff! What exactly can I do to remedy the situation? Well, the vet suggested that she could have her teeth cleaned out tomorrow by the vet registered nurse. However, he explained that this is stress filled for nervous cats and not something that should be done again on a regular basis.

He offered a second option, that if you ask me was much more straight forward and rather simple; to switch the food I had been giving from wet to dried food. Now, I’d in the past considered dry cat food as a possible inferior option. After all, I do not consume dried up meats so just why should my moggie? Nonetheless, it turns out that a great quality dry cat food is actually much healthier for the pussy-cat as opposed to stuff you can get out of a can or aluminum foil sack. The rough nature of dried cat food essentially acts just like a little toothbrush in your cat’s mouth.

So, I grabbed a big sack of dry poultry food and headed home. I had been unsure of just how my cat would respond but because she had had a good dose of painkillers plus a very empty tummy she scarcely seemed to detect the change. Actually, she wolfed down the entire plate.  I have continued her on the dehydrated foods and now have located an excellent company who produces dry food jam-packed full of meat (kittens and cats require greater amounts of protein when compared with canines). Now, whenever I have her teeth examined the reaction is optimistic. They are much cleaner than before and the cat is a lot happier, consequently it’s dry food for us from today onwards.
